Hollywood Dreamin

Snowfall

Darkness spread across the Hollywood skies. The sunset forgotten, bygone gridlock. The dreamers dreamed and the doers faced the witching hour. High above the worn concrete of Santa Monica Boulevard, snow fell onto the Paramount lot. Barely believable, the cascading alabaster flakes complementing the wild blue yonder. Microscopic stars dancing in the balmy California night. I stood and watched it fall for what seemed like an eternity.

Movie Magic.

A dream come true.

Every hour of imagining, writing, questioning, doubting, pitching, crying, panicking, starving, writhing, hating, lying, laughing and hoping, whispering in the man made wind. The tiniest of movie stars with the grandest of meanings.

It’s possible.

It’s possible.

*Fun fact. The term “Movie Star” started at Paramount. They would add a star to their logo every time they signed an actor to contract with their studio. Thus creating “Movie Stars”

**Song in the snow video is by Clark Graham. Link here to full Southlands album.
